There aren’t going to be many instances when you need heating services in South Florida, but we do offer heating repair and heating installation if you have a heat pump or heating strip as part of your HVAC system.

It’s always good to know that you have an option if the temperature drops in the middle of winter, so reach out and our HVAC maintenance professionals will get your heater up and running again in no time.

Signs That Your HVAC System Needs Repairs

As a leading heating and cooling company, we often get calls from customers who are wondering about the state of their heating, ventilation, and cooling systems. Here are signs that your HVAC system needs repair:

The thermostat does not seem to control heating and cooling

You might need the thermostat repaired or replaced, or a technician may determine there is an issue with the equipment.

Your system is making unusual noises

You are probably familiar with the usual sounds that your HVAC equipment makes, so if you hear something loud or off, it could indicate trouble that requires a professional’s attention.

Your power bill is much higher than usual

This could be a sign that your system is struggling to keep up with demand. Call for an inspection and possible cleaning, maintenance, or repairs.

The air is not blowing very strongly

Poor circulation could result from a problem with the compressor.

The system blows hot air when you expect the air conditioning to kick in

When this occurs, you need an experienced technician to figure out the problem and come up with a plan to solve it.

Summer in Miami

With extreme weather comes not just higher temperatures in the summer, but also the potential for additional tornadoes and hailstorms. Miami is subject to fierce hurricanes, which tend to occur between June 1 and November 30. The peak time for hurricanes lasts from the middle of August through September’s close.

During the wet, hot season between May and October, the dew point temperature averages higher than 70 degrees. It’s also a time of major rainfall patterns. During summertime, the mercury rises from the 80s into the low 90s.

Remember that in this season, homeowners often experience plenty of days of high humidity. That’s typically when they are most in need of the services of our HVAC company. The last thing you would want is for your family and any visitors to feel uncomfortable and out of sorts because of high humidity occurring when your AC has conked out!

Winter in Miami

As you might expect, Miami does not suffer from the bitter cold that northern areas experience during wintertime. Climatologists have not officially recorded any instances of snow falling in Miami.

In winter, the coldest month tends to be January, which reaches about 68 degrees. For a few nights in winter, the mercury might go down to 50 degrees or below. Under these circumstances, you’ll be glad that the heating and cooling service professionals from ARS/Rescue Rooter are looking after your home’s HVAC equipment, providing maintenance and repairs as needed to keep it running at its best.

How Florida’s Climate Can Impact Your HVAC Unit

At ARS/Rescue Rooter, your preferred Miami heating and cooling professionals, we often get calls from homeowners who wonder how often they need to arrange for HVAC services because of Florida’s climate.

The chief ways that Florida’s climate can impact your HVAC unit include:

Indoor Air Quality

It’s best to pay close attention to the state of your home’s indoor air quality (IAQ), especially if anyone in your family or circle of friends suffers from asthma or other respiratory ailments.

During the winter, when you tend to keep windows closed more often, IAQ is crucial to maintain. A properly working HVAC unit is the key to keeping air quality at its peak. In summer, the chances of high humidity increase, which can lead to the growth of mold, a major hit to IAQ.

Saltwater Corrosion

Miami’s coastal location makes it subject to high levels of salt in the air. Unfortunately, this means that the metal components of your HVAC unit are prone to deteriorate. The closer you are to the ocean and the salt-filled air, the more damage may occur.

Your HVAC may not be able to cool your house as effectively in the summer. A knowledgeable technician from ARS/Rescue Rooter has the skills and experience to quickly spot saltwater damage to your HVAC’s condenser coils, fins, fan, compressor, and the unit’s casing and frame.

High Humidity

Another factor affecting your HVAC equipment is humidity. You may have to run it more often when it’s hot and the humidity levels rise. If you don’t arrange for professional maintenance of your system each year from the professionals at ARS/Rescue Rooter, small problems that a technician would notice immediately can grow larger and more expensive to repair later.

A poorly maintained system that works harder to keep up with humidity will tend to wear out faster. At the same time, you may experience higher utility bills as the system struggles to keep up with demand.

Filter Clogs

When you run your heater more during the winter or keep the AC going all day in the summertime, it’s important to remember to clean filters or replace disposable filters regularly (per the manufacturer’s instructions). A clogged filter makes the HVAC system work much harder than it needs to, and this can lead to unnecessary damage.

Power Surges and Thunderstorms

It’s possible for equipment in your home to be damaged by electrical surges. These surges tend to occur more frequently in Miami during periods of heavy thunderstorm activity.

Ideally, you will shut off the HVAC unit when a major thunderstorm comes rolling into the greater Miami region. Otherwise, you might find yourself calling the experts at ARS/Rescue Rooter to troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment after a major power surge.

My 99.5 year old MOM recently had a vacate her apt in DELRAY BEACH, FLA. because of failing health. As her son, I am in charge of selling it and our realtor told us the air conditioning needed evaluation, likely work, possible replacement. I contacted ASPEN on March 11,2024 and was informed by their employee that someone would be at the apt between 2-6 PM the following day, MARCH 12, 2024. My Moms neighbor kindly agreed to be available and allow them apt entry (since I physically live out of state myself ). At 5 PM the neighbor informed me that nobody had arrived. I then called the ASPEN AIR CONDITIONING COMPANY to see if they would be arriving by 6 PM, as promised the prior day. I was NOW informed -on MARCH 12, 2024 at 530 PM -AFTER the neighbor had waited for them for 3.5 hours, that, in fact, ASPEN no longer services the DELRAY BEACH community and the prior day employee was wrong to tell us that they did. Is this INCREDIBLE or what? Wasting my neighbors time, a day to evaluate the failing air conditioning unit and generally showing total incompetence, I was absolutely INCREDULOUS!. How could a company employee NOT KNOW the ASPEN COMPANY no longer services a city right next to their home base in BOCA? Why did nobody call the next day at some point to let us be informed of this total "screwup? In sum, I totally question the competence of this company and would strongly urge potential users to reevaluate their decision to hire them , based upon my experience, as detailed above!

We first utilized Aspen here when they approached us at a Home Depot in 2020. An appointment was made for someone to come out and help us choose an air conditioner,. Original appointment date broke and rescheduled by them.. Finally came out went over the air conditioners, and we chose to have a Carrier air conditioner, they installed a Bryant air conditioner. Aspen representative told us Bryant was made by the same company as Carrier Air conditioners in the contract, We chose to have a heating element, when they installed the new air conditioner. when they put the dog shed over the air conditioner come to find out, they put glue all over my vinyl siding, they cleaned up what they could, but there’s plenty of siding still on my house. Winter came and turned out we needed heat but we didn’t have any. I had to have a private company, install a heating element(should’ve been included) I spent about two years trying to get someone from Aspen to knowledge my problem. I kept getting a call center and said someone would call me no one got back to me, terrible service from beginning to end.. I made dozens of phone calls and even visited the Boca Raton address which was closed. Stay away!!!!!!

This company has been the worst from the very beginning. I used them because they were in Home Depot and thought they were trustworthy. They came to our home and quoted us some ridiculous amount and then the seller proceeded to give us an ultimatum on the price, saying "it is the end of the month, this price won't exist tomorrow." b.s. They installed the AC and we have had nothing but problems. They only offered us one year labor warranty and it was very difficult to get them out to even come check on the newly installed AC. We got this unit in 2020 and here we are 3 years later with multiple visits because of leaks and now our compressor is shot! How is that even possible with a 3 year old unit? We called a new company and he said the parts should be covered under 10 year warranty. When he called to check THIS company didn't even bother to register our AC for the 10 year warranty. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY SUCK! AND YOU WILL BE OUT OF THOUSANDS WITHIN 5 YEARS!

Stay away. This company is a straight up disaster. Called them, scheduled an appointment for 6/19/23. Told they would be there between 4-7. Then get a call telling me it's raining in Miami so we can go on roofs, Meanwhile I'm in Delray with no rain. Told it was rescheduled to 8am on 6/20/23. 8 am comes and goes, I call and informed running late should be there at 10am and dispatch will call me. No call from dispatch, call at 10:30 then get told. Oh we don't do work up there. This companies customer service is like a straight up train wreck. If they don't know where they service I can just imagine the skill of repair and installation they posses. Good luck to all that use them.

Did not show up for appointment. Customer since 2016. Will never use again. Appt. made for btw. 2 and 4 pm. Called multiple times to follow up. Told they would call dispatcher and then dispatcher would call me. When they did call later that night, I was told the tech was finishing up the job and I was next...and then crickets (nothing). Called back at 8 PM and was told that absolutely they would service my unit that night. At 9 pm I called again and was told they would get an emergency call to the dispatcher. Called back and was told they could not get ahold of the tech. And would have to reschedule. Are you kidding me. It's 90 degrees in the house. I have two small dogs, one 15 and not tolerating the heat very well. If they would have told me they could not come by 4 pm I could have found someone else. Horrible with the hot weather in South Florida. Shame on you for leading people on.
